Appreciating Change: The Power of Adaptability
You are adaptive to the environment in which you find yourself. Resistance to leaving one environment for another would be futile, as the surroundings are ever-changing. The resistance to flow with these changes is what causes issues and concerns, not only within your body but also in your actions and reactions. As things change, in what has been the ever-so-slight clicks of the dial, the resulting adaptation has become indiscernible to you.
However, if you were to rise above and look at where you, as a whole of humanity, are now, you would see that things have evolved dramatically. Change is inevitable, and the more you go with the flow, the less resistance you provide, the easier it will be on your body and psyche. To moan and begrudge any changes as a form of resistance only brings you more of the same.
The simple-minded or those who aren’t hyper-focused on social concerns and global perceptions are taking these modifications in stride, remaining calm and not agitated. When a carafe of oil and water is agitated or shaken, it causes a disturbance from the perspective of the oil and water, making them lose their natural state. Yet, once the agitation stops, they settle again into their true form. You are the same; remain unagitated even amidst disruption.
Flow just above or around a disturbance, as you would with traffic flow when there is an accident on the causeway. Rubbernecking only causes more disturbance. The flow will always return. You may notice with mild amusement or observation the changes, especially if it brings you personal satisfaction to do so, but just keep moving. Resisting the current is futile. Flow and go; flow to the next and the next. Appreciate the movement rather than condemn the change. Look for the next view in the kaleidoscope that is ever-changing.
