Beyond Loss: Opening to Connection and Comfort
Nothing is ever lost, yet it may not be as it was in your experience. It may be more whole, as if returning to the fullness and vastness of the ocean, coming back as a part of yet another wave to shore or to your experience. If you are looking for it or them where they were, you will feel the loss or lack. Instead, feel for them in the vast, ever-present essence that they are—more complete, more pervasive, more whole, and more free, only from a different perspective or viewpoint.
Turn your face, figuratively and literally, ever so slightly to feel the breeze touch the right side of your cheek and know it is them returning, or rather surrounding you, as wholly as though they never left—because they didn’t. Hear the song of their voice and feel the depth of their being in the smell of the soil and the essence of a deep mountain forest. Allow and recognize that it is so. Only a thin veil ever exists between you and all that is desired, whether it be an object, person, or experience.
Blow the veil ever so slightly with the breath of your knowing and breathe in the resonance of comfort. It and they will flood and surround you, carrying you if allowed. Feel the spring in your step and the lift of your heart as you know this to be true. You may remain aware of the depths of despair for as long as you want, but it is not necessary. The heavy feeling of separation, defined as loss by you, is only them beaming a signal to look to where they are rather than where they were.
The sun will shine, the breeze will blow, and all will be well again. Release grief and turn toward resonance. Step back into the vibrant stream of life and love.
