Finding Clarity on Your Yellow Brick Road

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3; do, re, mi. Following your dharma, your purpose, your true path may be so simple that it seems not worth it without some effort involved. You may feel that it is hard or difficult to navigate, like finding your way once lost in the middle of a thick forest. Rather than seeking and experiencing the sense of being lost or not getting to where you believe you need to be quickly enough, that is the time to rest.

Find a place within to sit on a cool rock, even while in the midst of the thick forest, and allow the feeling of being lost to subside. When you do, and when you focus on the feeling of contentment—of knowing that all is well and that you are where you’re meant to be—then move. Follow the single flower or the scampering rabbit that catches your interest and diverts your attention away from the feeling of loss. The path will appear when you’re not looking for it.

All is never lost; it is only hidden behind the thin veil of doubt. The fog will lift, and the path will become clear, even bright, as you feel your way to joy. It is a journey that unfolds one step at a time rather than through giant leaps. Your path becomes clearer with each step you take. Like Dorothy and all her emotional friends, the experiences she followed led her to the Oz within, which she possessed all along.

Follow your yellow brick road to your own wonderland. You are there; it is only obscured by the fog of doubt, mistrust, and unworthiness. You are worthy, you are loved, you are whole. Let your internal light illuminate your yellow brick road, taking your whole self with you.
