Igniting the Light Within: the Power of Authentic Influence
Like the disappearing impression in the sand, your influence on others is fleeting, but it may spark the flame of their own internal knowing. Like a match held to the end of a sparkler, it only assists in the initial combustion of their own light—their ability to burn bright—so that they too may ignite in others a spark of recognition of the divine within. That is the golden thread of connection. The spark is all that is needed.
If the desire is to be the flame for others, that is an ego-driven human desire. Recognition of your role in assisting others to believe in themselves is not necessary or even wanted. Like attracts like, and the flame spreads much cleaner, burns much stronger, and affects many more when it is in its purest form of innocence. Like the love of a child or the song in one’s heart, it is gentle and loving, like a soft hand on the head of a child to awaken them.
Feel the contentment and the sense of satisfaction that comes from living for your own light rather than burning for others. Your light will—and does—illuminate the path for others simply by being and knowing. Keep holding the light for yourself and your own joy; it, in turn, shows others the way to their own sense of self. Be the light for YOU.
