Enjoying Life
Even knowing all the cheat codes, back doors, and revelations about a particular game does not diminish the fun of playing or even of playing again with a new perspective. In your life experience, it is the same. While you may not play the game in the same way, you still want to play; in fact, you may want to play even more, considering what may be viewed as higher stakes or gambling. You know it is not gambling since the outcome is the same: you win no matter what. Roll the dice, jump out of the plane, and feel the thrill of excitement for the experiences at hand.
Not all of life’s experiences have to be show-stopping thrillers. Indeed, the scent of a flower or the perfection of its petals is as fascinating and awe-inspiring as the big win on the roulette wheel. A life enjoyed, well-lived, or spent doing and enjoying is the life of champions. Participating in and playing with others in a meaningful way is inspiring. That is not to say that everything has to bring a well of joy or happiness. In fact, the presenters of contrast—seemingly difficult experiences—are your partners and true companions in this life experience.
You would not appreciate all that you do without experiencing dissatisfaction, disappointment, and the depths of what seems like hopelessness. Going to the edges of what seems like this life and considering the possibility of not being awakens you to the extreme love of living. The pendulum or axis of the swing allows you to appreciate all. The crash of the balls on a metronome sends reverberations in the opposite direction with the same force and momentum as the undesired experience.
Revel in the unwanted, knowing that it is in direct proportion to the joy yet to be lived. Understanding this increases the force of impact that you have on your life and others. Enjoying it all while experiencing the vast array is the key to a life well-lived and a job well done. Enjoy it all.
